STARKVILLE, Miss.—ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓƵ’s New Maroon Camp will host Rocking Chairs, an evening of Bulldog storytelling, reflection and tradition, on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 6 p.m. in Lee Hall’s Bettersworth Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
Rocking Chairs celebrates ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓƵ’s history and heart through the voices of individuals who have devoted themselves to the university’s mission and vision. Attendees will hear personal and entertaining stories, campus memories and insights on how the panelists’ journeys helped shape the campus and community students know today and what it truly means to be part of the Bulldog family.
The evening will feature a panel of four longtime ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓƵ advocates: retired Director of Athletics Larry Templeton; former Fashion Board Vice President and Miss ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓƵ pageant staff member Kathy Foster-Ashley; Department of Technology, Leadership and Design Professor Linda Coats; and retired Associate Dean of Students Eddie Keith.
New Maroon Camp prepares first-year students for the transition to ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓƵ. Campers learn university traditions, history and culture.
