STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥斍嗲嗖菔悠碘檚 College of Education is celebrating today [Jan. 30] its designation as a Mississippi Emerging Science of Reading Educator Preparation Program by the Mississippi Department of Education.
The recognition is for鈥痗olleges and universities鈥痶hat have trained professors and teacher candidates in the鈥痵cience鈥痮f鈥痳eading, exemplified a change鈥痮f鈥痠nstructional practices and are ensuring graduates enter a classroom ready to instruct students in structured literacy practices.聽锘青青草视频 is among four Institutions of Higher Learning to receive science of reading designations for the 2025-26 academic year.
To be considered for the prestigious designation, university faculty must demonstrate their science of reading expertise and engagement, including research, presentations, professional development, preservice teacher professional development and community partnerships.
